Yes. Glycerine is a wonderful substitute for chapstick. It’s moisturizing compounds help your lips  lock in moisture so you won’t have to reapply glycerine the way you do with chapstick. For the best results, dilute glycerine with lemon juice apply in the evenings before bed.

Products created to whiten skin oftentimes do contain glycerine. However, these products contain a variety of other ingredients, and Camille Beckman does not sell skin whitening products.

Is glycerine bad for you?

No, glycerine is considered to be safe to use. With any cosmetic, there is the chance that you may have sensitivities to the substance. While glycerine is considered to be safe for sensitive skin types, when applying straight glycerine to the skin, it’s wise to apply a small amount on a small patch of skin to ensure you do not have a reaction. Allergic reactions aren’t common, however it’s always best to test just in case.

Does glycerin have side effects?

If you have sensitivity to the glycerine, you may experience redness or irritation. It’s best not to use glycerine on the groin area, inside the mouth and nose, or near the eyes, unless the medication or cosmetic containing glycerine states otherwise.

What do I need to tell my doctor BEFORE I take Benzocaine and Glycerin Oral Spray?

• If you have an allergy to benzocaine or any other part of benzocaine and glycerin oral spray.
• If you are allergic to benzocaine and glycerin oral spray; any part of benzocaine and glycerin oral spray; or any other drugs, foods, or substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.
• If there is an infection where benzocaine and glycerin oral spray will be used.
• If the patient is a child younger than 2 years of age. Do not give benzocaine and glycerin oral spray to a child younger than 2 years of age. Do not use benzocaine and glycerin oral spray for teething.

This medicine may interact with other drugs or health problems.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all of your drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins) and health problems. You must check to make sure that it is safe for you to take benzocaine and glycerin oral spray with all of your drugs and health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any drug without checking with your doctor.

What are some things I need to know or do while I take Benzocaine and Glycerin Oral Spray?

• Tell all of your health care providers that you take benzocaine and glycerin oral spray. This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
• A severe blood problem called methemoglobinemia has happened with drugs like this one. The risk may be raised in people who have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, heart problems, or lung problems. The risk may also be raised while taking certain other drugs and in infants younger than 6 months of age. Tell your doctor if you have ever had methemoglobinemia.
• Different brands of benzocaine and glycerin oral spray may be for use in different ages of children. Talk with the doctor before giving benzocaine and glycerin oral spray to a child.
• Do not eat while your mouth feels numb. You may bite your tongue.
• Do not breathe in benzocaine and glycerin oral spray. Breathing in benzocaine and glycerin oral spray may cause harm or death.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks to you and the baby.
